Vidya Vikas Mandal, Pathrud established Shankarrao Patil Mahavidyalaya, in 1984. It is matter of great pride and honour to lead Sharnakrao Patil Mahavidyalaya at this historic location. Vidya Vikas Mandal was established by founder Chairman Shri. Rambhau Narhari Borade with a commitment to provide quality education to the students from remote villages of Bhoom Taluka. This institution aims at academic excellence and social justice through education. Shankarrao Patil Mahavidyalya has become a center of academic activities in this region. The college began with Arts and Commerce faculties. In 2003, Faculty of Science was also introduced. The college is permanently affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and has acquired 12B and 2F status of the UGC. In all these courses, the students are encouraged to undertake research projects and participate in extracurricular, co-curricular and sports activities. We are proud to mention that our students have achieved success in competitive examinations, research fields, sports and cultural activities.

Our students have become government officers, defense officers, police officers, industrialists, scientists, artists, writers, and teachers. Some of our students have been working in multinational companies. The college has several achievements to its credit in the form of awards, schemes, status and grade. We have received various awards from the state government and the university. Some of them are The Best NSS Unit Award, The Best NSS Student Award, The Best Student Welfare Unit, The Best NCC Officer Award, The Best Teacher Award. We have also won the prizes in Avishkar competition. We also organize university level seminars and workshops. We invite dignitaries from various fields to have dialogue with our students. The college also runs the center of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University successfully.

It provides educational opportunities to deserving people deprived of the opportunities of formal education. The college has earned name and fame because of its academic excellence, regularity and punctuality of its rigorous routine, high standards of discipline, administrative control and progressive attitude and positive social outlook of the management. Highly motivated and qualified teachers constantly strive to upgrade their teaching methods in order to enlarge educational horizon of our students.
